A room that teaches people to measure the candle

How the room started

In 2015 Choi Sanho rented an evening room in Yul-myeon and began teaching office workers how to read candlestick bodies without leaping to a story about the wick. He had spent the five years before that marking end-of-day candles for a small advisory desk in Seoul after the screens went dark. The teaching grew out of that habit: slow brackets, names spoken only after the geometry held, kept on paper.

By 2020 the class no longer fit the first rented space. Think Mosaic moved to the current address on Gowol-ro 85beon-gil. The desk, the eight chairs, and the rule about one timeframe per sheet came with the move. Han Yebin joined in 2022, after finance study at Kyung Hee University and two years drafting candle notes for a research circular. She reviews markup during atelier evenings and in one-to-one sittings.

How an evening is taught

Students mark alone before anyone talks. Comparison comes second, so a person cannot borrow a neighbour’s label and call it their own. Corrections are written on the sheet in another pencil, not collected into a slide. The candle pack stays with the student. Think Mosaic keeps the lesson sequence and the blank packs.

The subject is technical analysis training in the old sense: candlestick patterns and price action read on paper. Hours in the room go to measuring and labelling. Orders stay with each student and their own broker.
